Summer going by too fast!

I can't believe that it is mid July already! Summer has been lots of fun... heading to the cabin, playing in the water, going to see my sisters and their girls. We have started going to the library... Evalyn likes it, but right now she really likes to see all the people and touch as many books as possible!

Evalyn is getting so big! She is not a baby anymore... she is a full blown toddler with the personality to suit! She has definitely figured out how to throw diva size tantrums... mommy just ignores her. She is still very vocal, more words are mixing in to the babble every day!

I am amazed at what she understands. I can ask her to do things and she knows what I am asking... so great! She loves to dance, so grooves every time music comes on. I will have to post a video of that. It's awesome! She continues to be very loving and sweet. She really loves mommy a lot, and explodes with joy when daddy comes home from work. Often standing at the top of the stairs waiting for Chris to walk in the door just so she can say "Hi" or "DADDY"!

Connor has been busy helping Uncle Jim build their new garage. Earning money to buy a car... because he turns 15!!!! this fall. A little scary that we are going to have a driving teenager in November. He's been hanging out with friends, playing his guitar and doing Par Kor (spell). You will need to ask him about the last part.

Video Games

Connor and his "friend" Emily were playing video games one afternoon.  Evalyn thought she should try it too!

She actually did pretty good... for a 13 month old!  She could get the car to move forward, very very slowly!

Pancakes!

We had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast this morning.  Evalyn thought they were great!  She liked tearing them apart.  They are our favorite breakfast, well one of them anyway ;)

Jury Duty - DONE!

I have to recommend the call-in list for anyone that gets called for jury duty.   I never had to go in, and I got released today, duty served!  I am so happy that I didn't have to go downtown at all!  Whew, I can plan my days again!

Jury Duty.... argh

JURY DUTY!!  Why did they have to wait until I am a stay at home mom to send me a summons?!?  It couldn't have been when I was employed full-time and had no kids.  They had to wait until it was a pain in the under side to send me the summons.

The best part is, 1 week down and I haven't had to go in yet!!  Plus, I am free all weekend, until Monday at 12:15.  Seriously, the call in list for jury duty has to be the best thing ever.

So, if you ever get summoned for jury duty, call about a week after you send in your summons and get on the call in list.  Some people even get lucky enough to NOT have to go in at all... I am hoping for that.

Family Update

We have been very busy at the Pitkin house.  Chris has been doing lots of snow removal.  To say the least.  It's good for the company, but hard on Chris.  He likes his work though!

Evalyn is a mover and a shaker.  She is crawling up and down the stairs any chance she gets.  She likes to go over to the stairs and wait, when we say "no", she laughs and moves up the stairs at the speed of light.  She thinks it's the best game ever... I am not so thrilled... but it's super cute.  She is cruising around the furniture and should be walking soon... we hope ;)

Connor is getting bigger and working hard in school.  He still likes to draw a lot, and is pretty good.  He's doing pretty good in his classes... and likes texting on his phone. 

I am busy with Evalyn and hoping and praying that I don't end up having to go in for jury duty.

Life is good here at the Pitkins'.  Now if only it wouldn't snow for a while so Chris could get some of his projects done.
